Pentium 233MHz MMX Mini-Tower System
I've been collecting NOS (New Old Stock) parts for over a year to build an awesome mini-tower vintage gaming system for myself. Unfortunately I need money for a dental procedure so my loss is your gain. My asking price is well below what I have invested in the system.
This system boots to
DOS 6.22
,
Windows for Workgroups 3.11
,
Windows 95B OSR2
,
Windows 98 Second Edition
, and
Windows 2000 Professional SP5
.
The Pentium 233MMX in my opinion is the perfect vintage gamer PC.
It supports all of these operating systems perfectly. I built the system over the last few days and all the OS installations and software are fresh installs.
Do you want to run Linux, BeOS, NT, or OS/2? Simple! Grab another CF card and install your favorite alternative operating system.

ATTENTION TO DETAIL
We had a saying in the Marine Corps,
"Attention to detail."
I build my computer systems with this philosophy in mind:
All drives are mounted using all available screw mounts.
Installed hard rubber feet on bottom that use screws to mount.
The "sticky" feet that came with the case are also included.
Installed the Redbook audio cable from the sound card to CD-ROM drive.
The front panel turbo display has been configured to show "
HI
" and "
LO
" when turbo button pressed.
Installed rubber feet under the DIMM slots to ensure motherboard will not warp when installing DIMM RAM modules.
The keyboard was completely taken apart and cleaned.
Every key was removed and cleaned individually using alcohol.
A custom MSDOS case sticker is applied.
A period correct Intel Inside Pentium MMX sticker is applied.
Wiring neatly routed and zip-tied.
Thumb-screws added to case for easy entry
All of the original and extra screws and mounting hardware is also included.
Tweaked Windows 95, 98, and 2000 for the best possible performance.
The AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS files in DOS yield 614K of conventional RAM.
HDD and SSD CONFIGURATION
The internal Fujitsu hard drive has been partitioned with three 2GB FAT16 partitions. These show up as D:\, E:\, and F:\ in Windows 95, 98, and 2000. They show up as D:\, F:\, and G:\ in DOS 6.22 and Windows 3.11. All of these partitions are empty and ready for software and files.
The three Windows CF card SSDs have been partitioned as one 4GB FAT32 C:\ drive. The DOS 6.22/Windows 3.11 CF card SSD has been partitioned with two FAT16 2GB C:\ and E:\ drives. The E:\ partition is empty and ready for software and files.
That's 10GB of total space for all of the operating systems to use. The internal hard drive also makes it handy to share data across all of the operating systems.
NETWORKING
All versions of Windows have been configured for both TCP/IP and NetBEUI networking. A period correct version of Firefox has been installed in Windows 95, 98, and 2000 as well for Internet browsing. Networking was thoroughly tested between computers on my internal LAN as well as external sources on the Internet.
BOTTOM LINE
This is not some used and abused system like most of the others found here.
The majority of the parts are new ensuring you are not inheriting someone else's headaches. I've taken great care to ensure everything works 100%. This system will arrive to you in perfect working order. If you feel there is an issue that needs addressed contact me right away and
I WILL TAKE CARE OF IT
. Review my feedback.
I pride myself in being an outstanding seller.
The computer will be double boxed and double Styrofoam packed to ensure it arrives safely. I've sold
MANY
vintage computer systems over the last 3 years and
NOT ONE OF THEM
have arrive damaged.

All documentation, software, and drivers that came with the new components is included.
A DVD containing all the software is included. (not pictured but included)

The included CDRW burning software has been installed in Windows 95, 98, and 2000. That being said I don't recommend you try burning discs with a 233MHz system. Back in the early days of CD writing we made lots of "coasters". It was actually common. When you started a CD writing session you crossed your fingers and didn't dare touch the computer until the burn was completed. LOL
Although the turbo switch does display
HI
and
LO
when toggled it has no effect on the speed of the system. Pentium motherboards no longer supported the turbo switch function found on older 486 and older systems.
Windows 95 will list the USB ports as "Other Devices". The PCI USB card does not have Windows 95 drivers.
Computer address and IRQ assignments for the geeks in the know:

Sound Blaster: Port 220, IRQ 5, Low DMA 1, Type 3, MIDI 330, High DMA 6
SET BLASTER=A220 I5 D1 T3 P330 H6
Game Port: 200

Network Card: IRQ 10
USB Card: IRQs 9, 11, 12
