This one is in spectacular condition. Most seem to have been done in brass and been relacquered. This retains about 99% of its original silverplate with a very slight blemish on the neck about the worst thing I can find.
This horn had a recent overhaul by Tim Moran in CT. A top pro and the work is excellent. It is hard to imagine you could find a nicer condition and better playing example anywhere.
It was just stored and never played as I just can't find normal signs of wear. I assume that the original case took on a musty smell in storage  and so it was replaced and there are no musty odors at all.
The ergo's are slightly tricky but relatively easy to get used to. It depends on what you are trying to play but there are few limitations for a player who puts some time into it.
The tone is rich and vibrant with lots of tonal color. Like the other great vintage horns of the 1920's it sounds better than anything being made today.
An excellent consideration for the collector/player as you won't find a better looking and playing example.
