FRANK ZAPPA Onstage & Backstage Photos: '77 San Diego State Univ.

These pictures are from an amazing night.  This auction is for 11 4x6 photos of
Frank Zappa.
Actual photos are better than scans; these are just to give an idea.  They all were taken by the seller on 9/9/77 at San Diego State University while I was working for the school newspaper, The Daily Aztec.  This '77 concert was one of my highlights as an entertainment interviewer and photographer during the '70s.  After the concert I was able to take pictures and talk to him about music for about an hour.  One of the photos, the 2nd one here,  shows someone hardly ever seen in photographs--Zappa's huge bodyguard sitting on a table behind him.  Zappa decided to have a bodyguard after a 1971 concert at London's Rainbow Theatre, when Zappa was seriously injured after being thrown off the stage by a female fan's jealous husband.

It's about what the music scenes was like back then.  It also has many Zeppelin tour stories by fans and photographers and has two sections of little seen Zeppelin photos by various photographers.  I sell signed copies of this book on eBay.
