    Description

Rare Eb Alto made by the ELKHART BAND COMPANY. According to research, this is a blend of Buescher and Conn. We are estimating this instrument is from around 1950 based on the style and the case.
The company was founded in 1923 by Andrew Hubble Beardsley, who was the president of Buescher Band Instrument Company, and Carl Dimond Greenleaf, president of C.G. Conn, and who served the new company as secretary-treasurer. The company produced "Elkhart" branded band instruments as well instruments to be sold under merchandisers' brands ("stencil" instruments). Instruments produced by the company had an irregular assortment of features borrowed from the products of Conn and Buescher, partners in the consortium.
In 1927 the company merged with Buescher (some maintain that Buescher was purchased by Elkhart Band Instrument Company). When Beardsley died in 1936, the company was dissolved and Buescher used the Elkhart trademark for student line instruments until 1959.
FYI....there are no major manufacturers who make Saxophones in the USA, they are now all imports
We do our best to describe the condition and other than playing a few notes on the instrument, cannot give expert opinion for how well the instrument will play or whether it is needs adjustment.
    Attention Music Instructors:
Looking for multiple instruments for your students?
Don't let your students waste money on a rental!
Please contact us for quantity pricing and combined shipping specials. These refurbished USA Made instruments will stand up to student handling and all parts are easily sourced for any repairs or replacements needed--UNLIKE CHEAPLY MADE IMPORTS!
NOTE: We are resellers who clean and ship the instrument and not technicians. Most of the saxophones we acquire are from charity auctions that are donated.  This could be an instrument that was only played a short time and has been sitting.  We highly recommend that you have a professional technician go over the instrument as it may need regulation and adjustment to get back to optimal playing condition.
***remember vintage instruments have sometimes been sitting for a very long time, you as an instrument owner should clean your instrument regularly.
    THIS INSTRUMENT IS SOLD AS-IS
with no return, please look at all the pic's and ask questions before bidding or purchasing please.
Important!!! AS-IS Condition Vintage & Antique Instruments
do not have a warranty and though they have been cleaned, these vintage instruments can still have minor fit and performance issues. Vintage and antique instruments need to be put back into service with your regular playing after purchase.
