Description

This is a fully refurbished and optimized for retro gaming performance,
Dell Dimension XPS T500. For this machine, I've gone all out: It features an upgraded
800 MHz Intel Pentium IIIE Slot 1 CPU running on the legendary Intel 440BX chipset.
The CPU is paired with 256MB of PC100 CAS 2 SD-RAM, a 3dfx Voodoo 3 3000 3D accelerator,
and a Turtle Beach Montego Aureal Vortex A3D sound card.
I have cleanly installed Windows 98 SE along with the final version of the
3dfx Voodoo 3 driver and tools and Aureal Vortex drivers.
The Aureal Vortex is using the Windows 98 VXD drivers for the best performance
(WDM drivers are slower in Windows 98) and also features Sound Blaster 16 emulation
for great DOS compatibility. This sound card features A3D environment enhancements
a wavetable header, a joystick/MPU-401 port. Pure DOS drivers have been installed also.
DOS software can use Sound Blaster 16 and AdLib emulation in pure DOS as well as
General MIDI when running
in Windows.
I've mercifully preinstalled the nUSB33e mass storage driver, so you can plop in any
USB storage device that is formatted to FAT32 to easily transfer your favorite games
and applications. I've also copied over a few game demos and Daemon Tools to get
things started. The fastest method of copying software is via ethernet,
I've preconfigured a shared folder
at "\XPST500\shared\". you may need to enable SMB 1.0 on a Windows 10 machine
to access the Windows 98 shared folder.

All of the hardware has drivers installed and all of the hardware has been fully tested.
The PC was booted from the floppy drive, and the Windows installation was copied to the
hard drive from a Windows 98 CD (C:\WIN98). The memory completed 3 full passes in
Memtest86+,
The case, fans, heat sinks, drives and power supply have all been stripped to bare
metal
and cleaned of dust and fully detailed. New Arctic MX-4 thermal compound has been applied
to the CPU heatsink.
As you can see the computer is in excellent physical shape, there are no cracked
plastics, and no corrosion on any components.
The original capacitors are high quality and are in excellent shape and there is
no trace of capacitor electrolyte on the motherboard.
All of the drivers for the system are located at "C:\DRIVERS"

specific game compatibility).  PC is otherwise, as the case with vintage electronics,
