his listing is for an Armstrong
alto saxophone. The serial number is N226,xxx. I'm not exactly sure of its age, but it was most likely manufactured in the 1980's or 90's. This is a solid starter sax that will suit beginners on a budget for their first several years of playing. It would also be a great backup, double, or marching band instrument for more advanced players.
This one is in ready to play condition right out of the box! I have just given it a "COA" (clean, oil, and adjust) job, which is a more thorough servicing than most ebay instruments receive. The entire horn was disassembled and thoroughly cleaned. The body and neck were washed, and the keys individually wiped down. Old degraded key oil was removed from the hinge tubes with pipe cleaners and replaced with fresh lubricant. Upon reassembly, each pad was checked and replaced if necessary, along with any missing or damaged key corks/felts. It was meticulously adjusted so that all pads are sealing with a light touch. It also got a new neck cork. It plays great now, as you can hear in the video demonstration below.

This sax is in overall very good physical condition. The body is perfectly straight. The neck has not been pulled down, or otherwise damaged. There is one minor flat spot on the bow, and some minor pings and nicks on the bow and bell, but none of this affects how it plays. The lacquer is mostly intact, with normal light wear and scratching consistent with use, but not abuse. The keys are all moving freely and fluidly.
This sax comes with a Yamaha 4C mouthpiece, which is in excellent condition. It has been cleaned/sanitized, so it is ready to use. Also included are a ligature, mouthpiece cap, padded neck strap, reed case, cork grease, and cleaning supplies. Reeds are not included, but I have some available separately.
This sax comes in its original plastic shell case. The case is in great condition as well. There are no cracks or other damage to the outer shell. The inside shows normal light wear. It is odor free.
