Archaic Nephrite Jade Anthropomorphic Winged Man on Platform Amulet.

Description

A human head and hands are joined to a winged and horned animal body on this very dark olive green nephrite stone.The figure sits on a platform and holds a "cong".There is a minor chip on to the base edge and two knotched cuts in the platform about midway just below the wings.These were intentionally cut and I believe were designed to secure the item to clothing and perhaps used as a sleeve weight.The amulet measures 2 1/2" in length, is 1 5/8" in height,and 5/8" in depth.It weighs 59 gr and has a specific gravity of 2.91SG.
