    Description

Offered here is an antique/vintage Mahogany Cased Barograph or recording barometer. This was made by Short & Mason from London  and is No. I 7567. It has a mahogany wood case with glass on three sides with a hinged cover. The top lifts off the drum and it has a fixed key wind 8 day movement. The movement is number 40204. The case measures approx. 12" by 6' by 7 1/2" in height, not including the brass handle on the top. It appears to be in fine working order but you will need ink and new papers for the drum. There is a tiny bit of tarnish on the brass but nothing detracting. I believe this dates to the early 1900s but do not know for sure.
The mahogany wood and glass case are in excellent condition with no chips or cracks, etc.
This barograph came with a booklet dated 1941 explaining the mechanism, workings and how to calibrate.
