    Description

    A. Werner's
    barometer is extremely rare. It was supposedly produced in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, until 1910.

    . The date of birth is not exactly established, the date of death is 11/14/1910. Hereditary nobleman, professional photographer, member of the Imperial Kharkov Russian Technical Society, publisher of the magazine "Photographer", owner of shops and warehouses selling photographic equipment. He arrived in Kharkov at the beginning of the 20th century, acquired from his uncle K.I. Freelandt (a well-known entrepreneur in the Russian Empire who traded in photographic goods) premises on the street. Moscow No. 2-4 and opened a warehouse store selling photographic accessories, magic lanterns, gramophones, phonols, telephones, bells, stereoscopes, etc. Subsequently, he opened another store in the University Garden. In 1904 he was awarded a diploma of the Imperial Russian Technical Society for promoting the success of photography in the South of Russia.
    A. Werner was the first in Kharkov to take photographs for stereoscopes, as well as color photographs using an autochromic method, for which he received a large gold medal of the Imperial Technical Society.
    At the end of September 1910, at a photo exhibition in Yekaterinoslav, A. Werner was awarded a small silver medal for his excellent presentation of photography, equipping schools with magic lanterns and publishing a special photo magazine.
    On November 14, 1910 A. Werner committed suicide and was buried in Kharkov at the Ioanno-Useknovensky cemetery.
